課程概述 |
*Please see English version for most up to date information*
This course is designed for graduate students who seek training and/or improvement in their English-language presentation skills for academic purposes. The focus is on oral presentations for conferences and professional events, but the course content will be applicable to all forms of presentation. |
課程目標 |
This course aims to empower students to become competent and confident presenters. With the aid of interactive recording and networking media, not only can the peer audience provide timely and reviewable advice, but the presenters themselves have an opportunity to become their most effective critics. Students will be able to spot, mark, and envision their progress toward the fulfillment of that aim.
By the end of the course, students should be able to:
1. Know how to conceive and design an academic presentation for general and expert audiences based on their own research
2. Identify and select effective features of academic and other kinds of presentation, and apply them to their presentations
3. Present more confidently and persuasively in English by choosing appropriate presentation structures and techniques
4. Know how to analyze and manage their audience to ensure maximum value of their presentation content. |
